A Russian Wedding in Rome: an infinite “yes” in the Eternal City
The summer just started, a hot May and a wedding in Rome to take a photographic service.
Could I have asked for more? A more significant place to marry, like the Campidoglio, and a short tour of one of Rome’s finest gardens…But, just a moment…
I rewind and start everything from the beginning: Kseniya and Claudio are two wonderful people, and this is undeniable. Wonderful and in love, who chose Rome to conjure up their wedding. But not just Rome, generically: the center of Rome, the Campidoglio’s Hill, virtually the center of the ancient world.
And in an ancient, red room, they were surrounded by their Italian and Russian friends and parents who came to celebrate their union. And so they have pronounced a sweet “yes” with smiles and tears of joy.
Often, although I have been doing this work for years, I can not hold back the tears. This was one of those cases, I admit it, blushing. Kseniya was radiant, with all her friends around her for the traditional Russian toast, and together with friends and parents, a first refreshment was served just in the Campidoglio’s Place.
We chose one of the most beautiful gardens for this wedding in Rome as a location for photos,
of which I‘ve talked a lot about in this engagement session. Every time it is magical.
But the biggest surprise was the bus that gathered all the guests by transporting them to a delightful farmhouse nestled in the greenery of Rome. A rustic and magical place to have lunch and rest until late in the evening. Or until late at night, because the real feast began at sunset. Under an ancient massive wooden porch, all the company started to have fun with Russian dances, which went forward late at night!
What a joy to be here, what an honor to have known Claudio, Kseniya and their wonderful and funny families!
